The Department of Laboratory Medicine serves as a regional resource for clinical laboratory services required for patient care, research and educational programs in laboratory medicine. UW Medicine in beautiful Seattle, Washington is actively interviewing for Clinical Laboratory Technicians; part-time, full-time, and temporary hourly opportunities for various work shifts and location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduation or equivalent
AND
One year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience OR completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
OR
Equivalent education/experience.
HARBORVIEW MEDICAL & UWMC SPECIMEN PROCESSING & REMOTE LAB DIVISION REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a phlebotomy course
Medical Assistant - Phlebotomy (MA-P) certification with the WA State Department of Health
*If the New Hires does not have an MA-P, they will be required to complete an inhouse training program. As a condition of employment, the MA-P must be obtained within 90 days of the start date.
DESIRED:
Associates or bachelor degree in science
Experience in a major medical hospital laboratory
Experience with laboratory information system
Experience with electronic health record (EHRs) information systems
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Lab Medicine employees may be required to work in any of the department locations including but not limited to HMC, UWMC, Roosevelt, SCCA, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, SCH, etc.
Will be considered essential staff and as such will be required to report to work when scheduled despite inclement weather.
